My Top 3 Lazy Girl Tricks

My Top 3 Lazy Girl Tricks

There is no doubt that we are smack dab in the middle of summer and I am definitely feeling it here in Oklahoma!  I don’t know about you, but I tend to feel a wee bit lazier during the summer days– I get a little more sluggish and I find myself not putting as much effort into my makeup and wardrobe choices.  Maybe it’s my subconsciousness telling me to spend more time outdoors than in…? Whether you’re a lazy girl like I am, or you’re just wanting to cut down your time getting ready, here are a few Lazy Girl Tricks I’ve incorporated into my routine!

1. Dirty hair, don’t care.

There are times where dry shampoo can only do so much and you need to come to terms that your hair is really fucking dirty and you just need to wash it.  Personally, I wash my hair every 3 to 4 days, so I’ve definitely been there!  If you need to look presentable but don’t have time to wash your hair, the easiest thing to do is blast your roots with dry shampoo and throw it up in a cute “messy” bun.  You can also do what I did and search “dirty hair tutorials” on YouTube.  I tried out one of Sazan Hendrix’s hair tutorials and loved how it turned out (check it out here)!  This hairstyle is the perfect up-and-out-of-your-face up-do for those hot and humid summer days!

2. Put on some lipstick and pull yourself together.

During the summertime, the last thing I want to do is put on 10 layers of makeup.  My super minimal makeup routine for those hot melt-your-face-off days consists of concealer, mineral powder, tinted brow gel, and lipstick.  I personally love wearing bold reds and berry shades because it instantly pulls together a makeup look that looks like you spent a lot of time on, but was totally effortless!  The shade I’m wearing here is Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in the shade Outlaw.  It’s a super comfortable liquid lipstick and wears nicely all day.

3. Say yes to the dress.

If you find yourself short on time and needing to look somewhat presentable, you can’t go wrong with throwing on a dress.  Dresses are nice and easy, and there’s no fuss about whether your top goes with your bottoms.  The dress I’m wearing here is from Zara and it’s one of my favorite t-shirt dresses.  It’s super comfortable and the stripes give it a classic, timeless look.
