Happy #MASKMONDAY! I am so excited to share my thoughts on today’s review. Recently, I ordered some skincare from Memebox and the Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask was one of the products I hauled. Keep reading to see if this bubbly mask banished my clogged pores or if the suds were a complete dud.
First off, the product is kept in a tightly-sealed container and the consistency is like a thick pudding. The mask comes with a spatula, so I used that to apply the mask on my dry, clean face. I wasn’t sure how much to use, so I applied a pretty thick layer. Within 10-20 seconds, I could feel my face tingle and I started to see small bubbles forming. The whole carbonating/bubbling process was happening so quick, I wasn’t even done applying the mask to the other half of my face! I worked quickly to finish the other side of my face and I waited 5 minutes as the directions instructed.
Tip: Don’t apply the clay mask too close to your hairline, eyes, nostrils, or mouth. After a few minutes, the bubbles will expand exponentially and will most likely get in those areas.
After the 5 minutes were up, I could still feel the mask bubbling. I wondered how long I would have to wait for the mask to stop bubbling, but the bubbles were getting into my eyes and nostrils! At this point, I was ready to wash it off.
Before rinsing my face, I pressed the bubbles down and rubbed the mask further into my skin to get the maximum benefits. The mask continued to bubble, even after rubbing it in. So if you wanted to go through another bubblefest, you totally could! It might not create as many as the first round though.
I felt like the mask took a while to wash off, though it might be because I applied a thick layer to begin with. If you don’t want to be hunched over your sink for 3 minutes washing your face, I would suggest using a face cloth (preferably a dark colored cloth, just in case the mask stains).
This mask was not only fun to use, but also effective! I found that it cleared out my clogged pores, especially around the sides/crevices of my nose. It also left my face feeling slightly tight, so I made sure to follow up with a moisturizer.
If you’re looking for a clay mask that’s quick and fun, the Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask is right up your alley!
